Ivanchuk-Anand 1/2. White stood slightly better in the endgame.

Aronian-Ivanchuk 1/2. Black levelled, but tried to win in the endgame: bishop vs knight, and rook+5 pawns.

Svidler-Anand 1/2. Peter had a small advantage due to the better pawn structure, grabbed a pawn. Correct was 32.Rc5.

R5: Svidler-Leko 1/2 (A theoretical duel, Marshall Ruy Lopez, with good compensation for a pawn), Carlsen-Topalov 1-0 (Draw?!), Morozevich-Ivanchuk 1/2, Aronian-Anand 1-0 (Levon outplayed the rival in the ending).

R4: Leko-Aronian 1/2 (Peter attacked with the exchange sacrifice, but Levon got the better but drawish endgame), Anand-Morozevich 1-0 (Vishy had a small edge, 34...Nc5 was bad. More precise are 31...Bh6, 34...Ng5 or 34...Nc7! to trade the dangerous enemy), Ivanchuk-Carlsen 0-1 (An original opening, White tried to seize the initiative with 23.Bh3, but Magnus played tactically with the strong 34...Ne5 and won in the ending), Topalov-Svidler 1/2.

R3: Topalov-Leko 1/2, Carlsen-Anand 0-1 (Black had a small advantage, grabbed two pawns), Svidler-Ivanchuk 1/2, Morozevich-Aronian 1/2 (Alexander sacrificed the a2-pawn, with initiative, could win with 35.h4 or 38.Qd8+, 39.Qd8+ Kg7 40.f6+ Kh6 41.Kh4).

R2: Leko-Morozevich 1/2 (A sharp fight in the French), Aronian-Carlsen 1/2 (White gave a knight and could lose), Anand-Svidler 1/2 (Black had good counterplay thanks to two bishops, even won a pawn), Ivanchuk-Topalov 1-0 (Vassily got a positional advantage, grabbed pawn and knight).

R1: Ivanchuk-Leko 1/2, Topalov-Anand 1/2, Svidler-Aronian 1/2 (A theoretical duel, Marshall Ruy Lopez), Carlsen-Morozevich 1-0 (The King's Indian, Magnus sacrificed his knight with 13.Nxd6! Black made a mistake 15...f5? Better was 15...Qc7).
