Favourite players of the Millennium Poll

Who are your favourite chess players of the millennium? I asked you to nominate your top five players. The player written under the 1st place received 5 points, under the 2nd - 4 points, etc. It was possible to specify less than 5 chessplayers (but not less than 1!).
My thanks to everyone who took part in the Millennium Poll and for your thoughtful contributions. 36 people took part in the poll and there were 24 players nominated.
In the end the battle for the number one spot was between Alexander Alekhine, Robert Fischer and Garry Kasparov.
Alexander Alekhine topped the poll. In second place was Garry Kasparov finishing just 2 points short of Alekhine's total. Robert Fischer finished third.
