However, playable is 13... Be7. After 14. Bxf6 Nxf6 15. Bxe6! fxe6?! 16. Qxe6+ Kh8 17. Qxe7 the first player had an edge in Kramnik, V - Kasparov, G, London (10) 2000 (1-0, 25). Better is 15...Rc7! 16. Ng5 Bd6 17. Nb5 Re7 18. Nxd6 Qxd6 19. Bc4 Qf4! 20. Nf3 (20. Qg3 Qd2 21. Red1 Qxb2) 20... Bxf3 21. Qxf3 Rxe1+ 22. Rxe1 Qxd4 with equality in Markosian, D - Afromeev, V, Tula 2000 (1/2, 37).

Correct is 14... h6 at once. After 15. Bh4 Qe8!? 16. Ne5 Nxe5 17. dxe5 Ne4 18. Rc2 Qc6 19. f3 1/2, draw agreed, Rowson, J - Wells, P, York 2000. Or 16. Qa3 a6 17. Ne5 Nxe5 18. dxe5 Ne4 19. Rxe4 Bxe4 20. Be7 Qd7 21. Qd6 Qa4 22. Bb3 Qb5 23. Bxf8 Rxc3 24. bxc3 Qe2 25. Qd1 Qxd1+ 26. Bxd1 Kxf8 27. Be2 a5 1/2, Gormally, D - Wells, P, Scarborough 2001. Also possible is 15...Bd5 with only a microscopic edge to White, 16. Bxd5 Rxc3 17. Qxc3 Nxd5 18. Bxd8 Nxc3 19. Bxb6 Nxa2 20. Bxa7 Ra8 21. Bc5 Nxc5 22. dxc5 Rc8 23. Black obtained a good game after 17...Ng4!? 18. Rg3? Ndf6 19. h3 Qd7 20. hxg4 Qxd4 21. Rd3 Qf4 22. f3 Rfd8 23. Qc3 b5 24. Bxb5 Rxc3 25. Rxd8+ Kg7 26. bxc3 Qc7 0-1, Brodsky, M - Kruppa, Y, Alusta 1994. Better is 18. Qg3! Kh7 19. f3! Rxc4 20. fxg4 Bxg2 21. Kxg2 Rxd4 22. Nf3 Rd5 23. Qh4 h5 24. Re5! f5 25. Qxh5+ Qxh5 26. Rxh5+ Kg7 27.
