A powerful novelty. Before White played 12. h4 Bb7 13. Bh7+ Kh8 14. Be4 Bxe4 15. Nxe4 c5?! 16. d5 exd5 17. Qxd5 Nf6, Al Modiahki, M - Abdul, M, Arab-ch League 2002. Here better is 18. Qb7 Qc8 19. Qxe7 Re8 20. Qxf7 Rxe4 with an extra pawn. More precise is 15...Nf6 16. Nxf6 Bxf6 17. g4 Qd5 18. Qf4, Kostenko, P - Abdul, M, Bled ol 2002. Here Black must play 18... Qxa2! 19. g5 Qa1+ (also possible is 19...Bxd4) 20. Kd2 Qa5+ 21. Ke3 e5! 22. dxe5 Bxe5 23. Nxe5 Rae8.

After 13... Rb8 14. h4 Kg8 White has the initiative on the kingside.
