The greatest number of the chessplayers with rating bear the name Vladimir - 422. In Russian Vladimir means "master of the world".
However, if we sum up all variants of spelling the name Alexander, then Alexanders take first place. Alexander is one of the most popular names maybe because of the glory of Alexander the Great. There was prince Aleksandr Nevsky in Russia also.
1133 names occur at least 5 times.

A good names for career and success in chess are Giorgi, Gennadij, Aleksandr (and also Vladimir and Viswanathan, Anatoly and Garry). Not so good names for career are Ludovic (2098,2), Felipe (2104,7), Evangelos (2111,7).
